The four-volume, leather edition of the Liturgy of the hours is excellent. This is the first time I purchased this set instead of the imitation leather ones, and I am very pleased with the volumes and how they were packaged, and the supplemental guides that came with my order.

The quality of the leather-bound version is amazing, truly making them "sacred books". Absolutely love the size and feel. As a non-Catholic, I am still having a little difficulty navigating through the pages, but doing so with the reverence they deserve.

This four-volume Liturgy of the Hours is practically perfect in every way!
The binding, the font, the lack of tacky "illustrations," the FEEL of the books in your hand, the beauty and rhythm of the Grail translation of the Psalms, the selections for the Office of Readings!
After having to deal on a daily basis with the sheer UGLINESS of "Christian Prayer"!
Thanks be to God.
And to whoever WOKE UP to the fact that educated Catholics actually DO have an aesthetic sense.

The set is truly beautiful. They feel great in you hand, the printing is A++ and even the font size is surprisingly readable for me and I typically need reading glasses. If you are attempting to learn the Liturgy of the Hours, it'll still be a challenge, but this set seems to have everything you need. I'm using DivineOffice.org to help me figure things out (still can't find the Hymns) but I'm writing this on day two ;) I'll update my review if possible after Lent 2014. With that, if you want to get the 4-volume set, you need not look any further, this set is complete and beautiful!

This set for the Liturgy of the Hours was the only newly published version I could find on the web and I could not be happier with my decision. For anyone who is considering making the investment for this I highly recommend it. The leather-bound version is sturdy and sits nicely on a desk or next to one's bed. The ribbons are useful once I developed a system for how to mark the pages I needed, and the supplementary material is helpful. The pages, although thin, are beautifully printed, easy to follow after a week or two of use, and the introductory material is interesting and worth meditating on in their own right.
On that note, it should be part of the product description that the 4-volume set comes with the Supplement and Inserts that are also sold separately. Do not purchase them if you are purchasing this set because they are already included.

As a person who appreciates religious texts and pondering Catholicism, this is a perfect addition to any personal libary. The set arrived quickly, securely and safely packaged. The quality is good, the leather binding and ribbons are good. The only detraction in my opinion is the pages are a tad thin. Given the number of pages in each volume, this is somewhat understandable.

Beautiful edition of a beautiful cycle of prayer. I am a new Catholic and started reading the LOTH online a few weeks ago. I decided to purchase the set of books and at first found it a bit complex to use. However, I have been doing the prayers for the last couple of days and found that I am starting to understand the structure of the books. I LOVE using a real book so that I can underline or make little notes in the margins. This set seems very well made and will likely last for many years. In just the few weeks of reading the prayers each day, I feel a great sense of peace and joy to be praying with the entire Church. Strongly recommend to ANY Christian who wants to order their day around prayer

The leather-bound Liturgy of Hours Set with gold leafing is well worth the price difference between the imitation-leather edition I had and my recently purchased leather edition I am very pleased.
