So you are looking for a gift.  Or you want to increase your faith.  You ask yourself 'what would help me do this?'  Here are our suggestions for what every Catholic home needs:

10.  Liturgy of the Hours 

This is the ultimate prayer book.  The Liturgy of the Hours (also known as the Divine Office) is the richest single prayer resource of the Christian Church. It provides prayers, psalms and meditation for every hour of every day. It has existed from the earliest times, to fulfill the Lord's command to pray without ceasing.  Select the set of books to the right to find out more.

9.  A General Book Of Prayers

If the Liturgy of the Hours is just too massive of a commitment at this time, then there are many other great prayer books available today.  A general book of prayers for any occasion is a great resource to have on hand, especially when prayers are needed.  Here's a great selection we offer.

8.  Divine Intimacy.

This is the ultimate spirituality book.  For every day it offers two meditations, in liturgical arrangement, that enable the soul to enter the conscious presence of God and to reflect on the theme of the day.  Select the Divine Intimacy book to the left to find out more.

7. Marian Statue

6. Crucifix

Every Catholic home should have a reminder of what our Lord Jesus Christ did for each and every one of us!  "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who

5.  Holy Water

Holy water is water that has been sanctified by a priest for the purpose of baptism, the blessing of persons, places, and objects, or as a means of repelling evil.  Holy water isn't something you can buy.  Most times, it's freely available at your local parish.  It's a very strong and common sacramental which has been used throughout the history of the Church.  Find holy water containers here.

4. Sick Call Set

A sick call set is usually a crucifix designed to hold various items and hung on the wall which is used when a priest visits the home to perform Extreme Unction or the Sacrament of the Sick.  Many years ago, this would be found in just about any Catholics home.  Wouldn't it be great if this tradition would make a come back?  To find a nice set, please visit this site.

3. Rosary

The Rosary is a devotion for the meditation of the mysteries of the lives of Jesus and Mary.  The rosary was given to Saint Dominic in an apparition of the Virgin Mary in the year 1214 in the church of Prouille. 2. Shrine/Prayer Area.

Every Catholic home is the domestic church.  Every church should have an alter, shrine or prayer area devoted to the veneration of the Holy Trinity or saint.  The focal point of a Catholic home should be the family altar -- a place where the family can gather to offer up their prayers to the Most Holy Trinity and to ask the Saints to pray for them. Here is a great resource in getting started with a home shrine.

1. A Catholic Bible
